vivo is at it again with the rehash and revamping of their old models to make them look “not older” it seems
Over three years later, vivo has unveiled the Y11’s 2023 version, which is obviously different in terms of hardware and design from the original model that was released in 2014 with a 4″ LCD, 5MP primary camera, and a 1,700 mAh battery.
Since the Chinese phone manufacturer is still using the outdated waterdrop notch, which now houses a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera instead of the 8MP f/1.8 unit the Y11 (2019) had, the front of the vivo Y11 (2023) resembles that of the 2019 model. The screen is still a 60Hz LCD with HD+ resolution, but the diagonal has grown from 6.35″ to 6.51″.
On the other hand, in contrast to the 2019 model, the Y11’s 2023 iteration has flat frames and a flat rear panel with a rectangular camera island with a large circle housing the 8MP primary camera and LED flash.
A dual camera system with a 13MP main and 2MP depth camera was available on the back of the Y11 2019. A fingerprint reader was also added to it; the 2023 model does not have one. That’s not because it’s built into the power button, but rather because Vivo completely ignored it.
The MediaTek Helio P35 chip, which can be found in the vivo Y11 (2023), replaces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC that powered the Y11 (2019), and it offers up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded to 1TB using a microSD card.
The smartphone includes a 5,000 mAh battery and runs OriginOS Ocean, an Android 12-based operating system, out of the box. It is similar to the Y11 in this regard (2019).
The vivo Y11 (2023) is available in black and blue, with prices ranging from CNY899 ($130 / ₱7,098) to CNY999 ($145 / ₱7,917). It has two memory options: 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB. It is listed on vivo’s official Chinese website, but no information is available regarding its availability outside of China or when it will go on sale there.
