ASUS might discontinue the Zenfone series

In 2014, ASUS initiated the Zenfone series, a venture that led to the introduction of a total of 80 devices within the Zenfone lineup through consistent releases

However, this trajectory seems poised for a shift. A recent report from Taiwanese media source TechNews indicates that ASUS is on the verge of discontinuing the Zenfone series. Citing sources familiar with the situation, the report suggests that ASUS is currently engaged in a process of organizational restructuring.

ASUS had already addressed this restructuring endeavor in June, issuing a statement following the publication of its quarterly report, which revealed its first quarterly financial loss in over four years.

According to the report, ASUS is set to terminate the Zenfone division, channeling its employees into the ROG Phone department instead. Unfortunately, this restructuring initiative also entails a reduction in staff numbers within the PC departments spanning Taiwan and China. Initial plans aimed at relocating some employees to the Zenfone and ROG Phone teams have been abandoned. As of now, ASUS has refrained from delivering an official statement regarding this development.
