nubia Red Magic 9 to be powered with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Qualcomm is set to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the latter part of October, although phone manufacturers have already begun testing it. A prototype featuring this System-on-Chip (SoC) underwent evaluation on Geekbench, revealing a substantial multi-core score of 5,977

This particular phone bears the model number NX769J, and it’s widely presumed to be the ZTE nubia Red Magic 9. Notably, the device will boast 12 GB of RAM and will run on Android 14 straight out of the box. The motherboard’s designation is listed as “pineapple,” which interestingly aligns with the Samsung Galaxy S24 unit that also appeared on Geekbench. However, disparities in the benchmarking results can be attributed to the varying versions of the benchmarking platform employed.

Anticipated changes to Qualcomm’s flagship chip architecture involve a new CPU setup: 1x Cortex-X4 + 5x Cortex-A720 + 2x Cortex-A520. Additionally, the GPU is projected to carry the name Adreno 750, accompanied by a 10 MB L3 cache. This cache size represents a 20% increase over the cache present in the current flagship offering. Further details are expected to emerge on October 24, which arrives a month prior to the conventional date of the Snapdragon Summit where such announcements are typically made.
