Legion Go’s immersive display and impressive performance arriving in a few days

Lenovo challenges Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch with Legion Go’s 8.8-inch display, AMD combi chipset, and better RAM.

Lenovo seemingly wants a piece of the console market. The Chinese tech company will likely launch its first handheld console, Legion Go, in a few days. While nothing’s decided yet, portable console gamers should know the leaked details prior to launch. Does Legion Go have what it takes to beat the competition?

The leaked press release retrieved by Windows Report unveiled that Legion Go has 8.8 inches of QHD+ touchscreen display and is powered by AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU with AMD RDNA graphics. It is also equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage and running Windows 11.

Battery-wise, Legion Go is allegedly packed by a 49.2WHr battery with Super Rapid Charge support. For co-op gaming, Legion Go includes 2 detachable controllers, each having 900mAh of battery.

If you’re interested, it is expected to be sold at €799 (₱49,275.21). However, the leaked details did not mention which model that price is for, and this upcoming console is likely to have different configurations.

Additionally, Legion Go will have a pair of AR glasses at launch. The Legion AR Glasses come with micro-OLED screens per eye and each lens supports 1080p resolution. The AR glasses will also work with any USB-C device, letting users use it besides with Legion Go. Its price is estimated to start at €499 (₱30,773.88)

To boost immersion further, Legion Go has E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones, which have a mic and USB-C support. It is rumored to be priced at €49.99 (₱3,082.68).

Obviously, the Legion Go looks powerful, at least on paper. But these days, experience, performance, and battery life are big things among buyers. Based on what was revealed so far, Lenovo’s portable gaming console will address experience via an immersive display and accessories, performance with higher RAM and twice as much storage, and battery life with super-fast charging capability.

Legion Go is rumored to launch on September 1 at IF Berlin.
