As a tech enthusiast, attending the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is like Charlie going to the Chocolate Factory; it’s always filled with fun and wacky concepts. Choosing which booth is the best is kind of difficult because all of them have their own twists and concepts.

But this year it’s different. TECNO blew it out of the park with their booth. Stepping inside is like being transported to another dimension or into the future. From AI-driven smartphones to cool and exciting concept devices, TECNO made sure to bring their A-game to the MWC.

From the moment I walked into TECNO’s booth, I knew that they meant business. It wasn’t just a simple exhibition of their ideas, it’s a roadmap of what they want for the future. To give you a glimpse into what it was like, here’s a few of the things they showcased at the booth.
Starry Optical Fiber: A Smartphone That Glows?
While every phone manufacturer struggles with making their phone stand out from the rest of the competition, TECNO is out here changing what a smartphone could look like with the Starry Optical Fiber technology.

The technology is similar to Rolls Royce’s starlight headliner but in a smartphone. It integrates ultra-fine optical fibers into the smartphone’s back panel, giving you a mesmerizing, starry effect that shifts and glows depending on the angle.

TECNO showcased this technology on the PHANTOM V Fold2 5G, which made for a rather unique foldable that will turn heads not just because of its foldability but also because of its back panel.
Universal Tone: Diversity in AI Imaging
Partnering with a renowned Turkish university, TECNO sought to improve their AI’s capability in enhancing skin tones. Training on a wide variety of skin tones, this is a game changer that will capture diverse beauty more accurately.
AI Glasses Series: The Future of Smart Wearables

The concept of smart glasses isn’t new; in fact, the Google Glass has been around for more than a decade. However, that didn’t stop TECNO from unveiling their first AI Glasses series. Incorporating features such as hands-free access to notifications, navigation, and real-time translations.
With this, you’ll never have to reach for your phone every time new information pops up.
SPARK Slim: The Thinnest Smartphone Yet?
While manufacturers like Samsung and Apple are out there developing a thin version of their flagship smartphones, TECNO has already beaten them to the punch with a working prototype of their SPARK Slim.
Measuring at just 5.75mm, it still manages to pack a 5,000mAh battery in that thin profile. It’s shockingly thin—almost too thin for our taste. Nevertheless, it just proves TECNO’s engineering prowess.
POVA 7 Concept: Endless Creative Control at the Palm of Your Hand

We found TECNO’s POVA 7 Concept quite intriguing. Featuring a color-changing E-ink back panel, it utilizes what’s called “Display Electronic Slurry Technology” (DES); it’s a lot of jargon that even we don’t understand. But what we do understand is that it’s hella cool.
It allows users to dynamically alter the design of the real panel of the phone, offering even more personalization over your phone’s appearance.
The CAMON 40 Series Launch: Outstanding Camera Performance Without Breaking the Bank

We saved the best for last, the CAMON 40 series launch. TECNO finally unveiled their flagship lineup, which focuses on AI-enhanced photography. Both their CAMON 40 Premier 5G and CAMON 40 Pro 5G had outstanding camera hardware backed with a ton of useful features.

And it isn’t just sales talk; DXOMARK, the renowned camera certification body, awarded the CAMON 40 Pro 5G their prestigious “Smart Choice” award as well as being heralded as the No. 1 camera performance for devices under $500.
Not to mention, the wide variety of innovative back panel designs that TECNO showed off in their booth. You’ll never need a phone case after seeing the amazing designs that they came up with.
