All roads lead to Faker: T1 wins EWC Grand Finals

The T1 buff is real and it propelled the team to the gold medal!

The League of Legends esports event has concluded in the ongoing Esports World Cup 2024, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The grand finals showcased the peak gaming talents of two incredible teams: T1 and Top Esports.

The total prize pool for LoL at EWC is $1 million; Worlds 2023 had $2.2 million. The grand battle between the titans, T1 of South Korea and Top Esports of China, happened after four days of intense battles among eight of the best teams worldwide.

Although T1 had a very rough start in the first game as Top Esports slammed them hard, the South Korean esports organization bounced back and took the next three games away from the Chinese esports representative.

The event reached corners of the world, thanks to online streaming platforms. Peak viewers during the grand finals reached 1.1 million and anyone could say that’s partly due to T1’s presence.

Sadly, one of the expected to meet T1 at the finals failed. Gen.G was eliminated early on by Top Esports. It may sound a coincidence but the event somewhat showed that T1’s buff against LPL is active wherever they play.

There was a notable issue though. The event had a lack of broadcast for Korean audiences, recognized for contributing massive viewership at every global esports event.

T1 members Zeus, Oner, Faker, Gumayusi, and Keria are the gold medalists this year. Top Esports are awarded silver while both Team Liquid and G2 Esports are awarded bronze.
