Apple is introducing a significant camera overhaul with the iPhone 17 Pro series. The new system moves to a unified 48-megapixel standard across all rear lenses, packed with new hardware and professional-grade video features.
All-New Camera System

- All 48MP Sensors: For the first time, the entire rear camera array: Main, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto will feature 48-megapixel sensors. This provides consistent, high-resolution image capture across all focal lengths.

- Next-Gen Telephoto: The iPhone 17 Pro will feature a new telephoto lens with a 4x optical zoom. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will get an even more advanced version, boasting an 8x optical zoom, the longest ever on an iPhone.
Professional-Grade Video Features

The iPhone 17 Pro introduces a suite of tools for content creators and filmmakers:
- ProRes RAW & Apple Log 2: The new models will support both ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2, giving users more control over color grading and post-production.
- 4K 120fps: The phone will be capable of recording in 4K Dolby Vision HDR at up to 120fps, a major upgrade for high-quality slow-motion video.
- Genlock: The new cameras will support Genlock, allowing for precise synchronization of footage from multiple cameras in professional multi-cam productions.
Redesigned Front Camera

The front-facing camera receives a major upgrade:
- Higher Resolution: The selfie camera is now an 18-megapixel sensor, a significant jump in quality.
- Dual Capture: A new Dual Capture feature is built directly into the Camera app, allowing users to record video from the front and rear cameras simultaneously in a picture-in-picture format.
- Center Stage: The new front camera will also support Center Stage, automatically keeping subjects framed during video calls.
