A new code in Android 15 may sync real-time notifications on multiple Android devices with the same account.
Sick and tired of old yet never-ending notifications on your Android devices? You’re not alone suffering from that inconvenience. But perhaps Google has found a solution that may be introduced by Android 15.
According to a report, the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 update showed a mysterious reference to “sync across devices” in the Settings app. It could be many things but this one is found linked to notifications.
The new code, <string name=”sync_across_devices_title”>Sync across devices</string>, appears to resolve the syncing problems of notifications across Android devices you own. When you dismiss a notification, that notification will no longer appear on devices connected to the same account.
While it’s an exciting fix to the long-standing annoyance, it hasn’t been integrated with Google Play services. This leaves uncertainty if it’s exclusive to Pixel devices.
Also, we don’t know if it works seamlessly across apps installed on multiple Android devices with the same account. For example, is dismissing Facebook notifications on your Android phone also applies on your Android tablet?
We’ll probably find out in new Android 15 patch releases in the coming months. So, for now, you just have to deal with the annoying repetitive notifications on your devices.
