Apple has officially launched its highly anticipated iPhone 17 series at the annual “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, 2025. The new lineup includes four models: the iPhone 17, the ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max. The series introduces major design, camera, and performance upgrades, accompanied by the latest iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence features.

  • Models and Pricing: The iPhone 17 starts at a price of ₱57,990, while the new iPhone 17 Air, which replaces the iPhone 17 Plus, starts at ₱72,990.

  • Design: The iPhone 17 Air is Apple’s thinnest phone to date, with a remarkable 5.5mm profile.
  • Performance: Both models are powered by the new A19 chip, providing enhanced performance and on-device AI capabilities for the new Apple Intelligence features.

  • Display: Both the iPhone 17 (6.3-inch) and iPhone 17 Air (6.6-inch) now feature a ProMotion 120Hz display, a significant upgrade that brings smoother scrolling and animations to the standard models.
  • Cameras: The iPhone 17 features a dual rear camera system with a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The iPhone 17 Air has a single 48MP rear camera. Both models have an upgraded 24MP front-facing camera.

  • Models and Pricing: The iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₱79,990 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at ₱86,990. Both Pro models now have a base storage of 256GB.

  • Performance: Both devices run on the new A19 Pro chip, which includes a vapor chamber for advanced thermal management.
  • Display: The iPhone 17 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max has an even larger 6.9-inch screen.

  • Cameras: The Pro models feature an all-new triple-camera system, with all three rear cameras: the wide, ultrawide, and telephoto, now boasting 48MP sensors. The telephoto lens offers an impressive 8x optical zoom. The front camera is also upgraded to 24MP. The phones support advanced video features like ProRes RAW and 8K video recording.

Software and Ecosystem

All new iPhone 17 models come with iOS 26, which features a new “Liquid Glass” user interface and introduces Apple Intelligence, a suite of on-device AI features that enhance writing, image creation, and live translation.

Philippine Availability

The iPhone 17 series will become officially available in the Philippines starting in late September 2025. While Apple’s official release schedule varies, the country is typically part of the first or second wave of a new iPhone launch, making it available a few weeks after the initial US release.
