Control unified macOS and iOS digital ecosystem with Apple’s upcoming smart home display.
If you’re using multiple Apple products at home, it’s better to have a single hub for easy access and management.
According to a report, Apple is developing its first smart home display codenamed J490. Not only that it can work as a tablet, but it can also be mounted on a wall.
The device is speculated to have a 6-inch display and a square aspect ratio, which means large display bezels. It’s equipped with the following specs and features:
- Camera
- Internal speakers
- Rechargeable battery
- OS elements from watchOS and iPhone Standby mode
- Supports Apple services like Apple Intelligence, Siri, and FaceTime
- Works with HomeKit-compatible lights, security cameras, thermostats, and other devices.
With Siri and Apple Intelligence, the Apple smart home display is expected to support hands-free interactions so users won’t have to go near it to execute commands. Plus, Cupertino is working on other attachments, such as a nightstand and more speakers.
If you’ve noticed, the purpose of that smart home display is similar to Amazon Echo Hub. This is a smart control panel for numerous smart devices, including light bulbs and video doorbells. It comes with Alexa Voice Control as well.
Apple’s upcoming smart home display may launch in the next few months.
