Xiaomi has officially unveiled its new flagship lineup in China. The Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max debut with a major design shift and the latest processor, signaling the company’s direct competition with the high-end market.
Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
All three models in the Xiaomi 17 series are the first smartphones to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This confirms their position at the top of the mobile performance charts and ensures cutting-edge speeds for gaming, AI, and multitasking.
Design: The ‘Magic Back Screen’



The Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max introduce a bold new design element: a large “Magic Back Screen”. This secondary display is integrated into the camera module and allows for high-quality selfies using the main cameras, as well as showing notifications, music controls, and a customizable clock face.



The base Xiaomi 17 features a redesigned, rounded camera island. All models in the series have also shifted to flat displays.
Camera System
The Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup with Leica tuning. This includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The periscope lens brings advanced optical zoom capabilities to the series.
Battery and Charging
The series is tipped to feature larger batteries. The standard Xiaomi 17 is rumored to have a 7,000mAh battery. The Xiaomi 17 Pro is expected to have a 6,300mAh battery, while the top-tier 17 Pro Max is rumored to come with a substantial 7,500mAh capacity. Charging is also fast, with 120W wired and 50W wireless speeds on the Pro models.
