Coolpad is back in the game with a new budget-friendly smartphone, the Cool 50. Unlike most budget phones that skimp on storage, the Cool 50 boasts 256GB and a 4700mAh battery, perfect for those who are constantly on the go and don’t want to be tethered to a charger.
Cool 50’s AG glass back adds a touch of sophistication often missing in budget phones. This gives the phone a more premium feel without adding much weight.Enjoying videos and games is a breeze on the sizable 6.56-inch waterdrop display. The phone also features a dual camera system with an LED flash for capturing everyday moments.
While the official pricing remains under wraps, Coolpad confirms the Cool 50 will be available for purchase online and in stores. The phone comes in three attractive colors: Snow Domain Silver, Frosted Black, and Sakura Pink.
A recent China Compulsory Certification (CCC) listing sheds some light on some of the Cool 50’s specifications. The display offers a decent 720×1600 resolution for a clear viewing experience. The phone measures 163.6 x 74.8 x 9.2mm and weighs 199g, making it comfortable to use in one hand. The processor details are still unknown, but the listing reveals an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz.
The Cool 50 follows the launch of the Cool 60, another budget offering from Coolpad. The Cool 60, launched earlier in China, is priced at 599 yuan (~₱4,817.86). It features a UNISOC T760 chipset, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 6.51-inch 720p LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and even supports 5G networks.
While the official launch date is yet to be announced, Coolpad’s Weibo promotions suggest an imminent launch. Stay tuned for the full pricing and detailed specifications reveal.
