Apple‘s long-rumored foldable iPhone has surfaced once again, this time through leaked case renders that may have revealed more details about the device’s design ahead of its expected debut next year.
Rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable smartphone is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in September. While several leaks have already offered an early look at the device, newly surfaced renders from a case manufacturer provide a clearer glimpse at its possible design.
The leaked images show the foldable in a black finish and reveal the device from multiple angles. Interestingly, the renders suggest the iPhone Ultra may not feature built-in MagSafe support, potentially requiring a compatible case to enable magnetic wireless charging.
The case design also hints at an unusual button layout. The volume buttons appear to be positioned along the top edge of the device, while the power button is located on the right side. A separate cutout below the power button is also visible, which could be reserved for an antenna band.
On the back, the foldable is shown with a dual-camera setup housed inside a camera island that resembles the design seen on the iPhone Air.
Previous rumors have suggested that the iPhone Ultra could measure just 4.7mm when unfolded and 9.23mm when folded. The device is also tipped to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a larger 7.8-inch inner screen with a wider aspect ratio.
As for the hardware, the foldable is rumored to pack a 48MP main camera, Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset, and a battery with a capacity of around 5,500mAh. Reports also suggest the device could bring back Touch ID, with the fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
Apple has yet to officially confirm the existence of the foldable iPhone, but leaks surrounding the rumored iPhone Ultra continue to paint a clearer picture of what could be one of the company’s biggest hardware launches in years.
