We’ve previously reported that the vivo will launch two new additions to the X200 lineup, the X200 Ultra and X200s, but we never expected that the X200s would come with some serious power… and we mean SERIOUS…
While the X200 Ultra opted for a Snapdragon flagship chipset, the X200s went the other way with MediaTek, being one of the first phones to feature their new and improved Dimensity 9400+ chip.
How is it better to the Dimensity 9400?
Even before the chip’s launch (which we expect would be soon…), we’ve been getting some reports from the rumor mill that put the D9400+ in a whole different ballpark. A recent AnTuTu benchmark sighting has shown that the chip is capable of achieving over 2.9 million points.
While it doesn’t seem that big of a deal considering the D9400 fared well at 2.5 to 2.8 million points, it’s still a big improvement. It just shows that the D9400 has so much more life left to it. But do take this figure with a grain of salt, as these are still leaks.
But, what does it mean for us?
Numbers are one thing, but real-world usage is another. Here are just some of the few things where the D9400+’s power can be felt:
– Unparalleled smoothness: Users that have D9400+ in their phones can expect seamless transitions from one app to another, lightning-fast app startups, as well as the ability to open dozens of apps without the phone slowing down. Although the burden of optimization still falls to the OS makers.
– Elite gaming: No pun intended… Triple AAA mobile games will move like a breeze even with all the settings maxed out. No longer will you suffer through stutters and frame drops. Again… if the optimization checks out.
– Advanced AI: AI is no longer a thing of rarity; it’s in almost every phone ever conceived in the last 3 years, but that doesn’t mean that it’s perfect. The D9400+ aims to achieve greater heights through better on-device handling of complex AI algorithms.
– Rapid Image Processing: Let’s be real, image processing has long been Android phones’ source of grief when compared to iPhones. We’ve seen newer phones close the gap in image quality but still end up falling short. The D9400+, combined with vivo’s imaging expertise and partnership with renowned camera lens maker Zeiss, aims to provide users with rapid-fire photo captures, complex photography effects, and prolonged high-quality video recording that doesn’t put too much strain on the device.
We’re definitely excited to see how the Dimensity 9400+ fares when tested side-by-side with Qualcomm’s top chip. It’ll also be exciting to see what the X200 has to offer, especially at its price point.
