DIY dream case: 3D print your own CMF Phone 1 back cover

Nothing is pushing its community to go creative by 3D printing their personalized back covers for CMF Phone 1.

Nothing recently launched the CMF Phone 1 smartphone. Compared to the Nothing Phone, the CMF Phone 1 is reviving phone customization of old with a modern touch.

If you’re not aware, the CMF Phone 1 comes in four different colors. While you can’t customize the front, the back cover is swappable thanks to the removable screws.

You can own the blue variant and still be able to use the other colors because the cases are detachable.

However, Nothing won’t limit the creativity of CMF Phone 1 users. Those who have dream designs can bring them to life through 3D printing.

In a post, the brand documented the dimensions of the smartphone so those who want to make their own back covers can do so. Even the diagrams of the screws are unveiled.

Nothing also lets creators follow their imagination. Lens attachment and ergonomic camera grip, for example, are welcome. But the brand has one rule based on that post: Create and customize responsibly.

Nothing and CMF by Nothing won’t be responsible for compatibility issues with unofficial creations. The two are also not responsible for any damage done by installation of unofficial accessories.

With permission from the CMF Phone 1 maker, expect unofficial accessories to appear on online retail shops. That’s good for empowering small businesses but as a buyer, you must be vigilant for quality.
