Uncle Sam just blacklisted DJI, the world’s biggest drone company right now due to alleged ties to the Chinese military
If you know someone from the U.S. or you possibly living in the country right now, you might want to cherish your last moments with your favorite DJI product, because it’s blacklisted now in the country because of “alleged” ties with the Chinese military, giving the heads up to pull the plug for the drone company giant.
This is definitely a big deal for DJI after they’ve got the Huawei treatment as well (well, not exactly, but it’s on the same boat), as for the other competitors, this is their time to shine.
Other companies that’s been listed in the so-called “entity list” includes BGI Genomics firm. The US’s Commerce department can restrict blacklisted companies from any transactions related to the US, and that includes tech and investment opportunities.
The U.S’s center of defense and intelligence, Pentagon was the one who will be put in their entity list. It is studied and act accordingly to counter the military-civil fusion strategy of the People’s Liberation Army in China.
What’s your opinion about this? Is this a sensible decision of the U.S. or not?
