Elon Musk Wants to Buy Twitter for $43 Billion

“Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it.”

Elon Musk

After Elon Musk’s 9% stake at Twitter, he’s offering to buy the company at $43 billion, or at least, close to that amount.

The main reason for his offer and his intent of purchasing the largely-popular 280-character limit, social media text post company is his want of “transforming” the company into something better.

Since hindi pa pagmamay-ari ni Elon Musk ang ibang shares, he’s offering to buy them for $54.20 per share. Mas mataas ito ng almost 40% bago mag “close” ang trading nuong April 1.

With this amount, the company (Twitter) will be valued at $41.4 billion. Sinabi na rin ni Elon na ‘eto ang kanyang best and final offer.

Twitter shares increased in value after Elon Musk declared his 9% stake in the company last April 1.

Pinaalam ni Elon Musk ang kanyang offer last Wednesday thru an SEC filing. He adds: “I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech”

He also says: “Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company.”

His intent was addressed not to CEO Parag Agrawal, but to the chair of the Twitter board.

Sa dulo ng kanyang offer letter, idinagdag ni Elon ang mga salitang: “Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it.”

We don’t know what Elon Musk will do with Twitter, pero the losers right now are the ones who have shares. As early as now, the right thing to do might be to sell shares, or hold onto them longer, which is even a riskier alternative.
