Two realme number series in a single year? Yup, your eyes don’t deceive you. So… what’s changed? The biggest difference from the previous 14 Series is actually the naming scheme. Not just because it went up a number, but because the lineup has been restructured.
Before, realme’s number series had three phones: the standard realme 14, the 14 Pro, and the top-tier 14 Pro+. Now, realme has simplified things by dropping the Pro+ moniker. That means the standard realme 15 5G is essentially the spiritual successor to the previous 14 Pro.

So, here’s the big question: is it worth upgrading from the realme 14 to the realme 15 5G? Let’s dive into our first impressions.
What’s Inside the Box?

At first glance, the packaging doesn’t reveal much. As with most realme phones (except maybe the GT 7), the realme 15 5G comes in the brand’s iconic yellow box with the number boldly printed in the middle.
Inside, you’ll get:
- The realme 15 5G
- Transparent jelly case
- Documentation + warranty
- SIM ejector tool
- 80W SUPERVOOC fast-charging brick
- USB Type-C cable

Since this is a PR unit, realme sweetened the deal by sending a special PR Kit that included a Hollyland Lark A1 mic, an Instax Mini Link 3 printer, and some merch. Those extra goodies hint at realme’s new direction, which we’ll get into later.

Haute Couture Meets Durability
The design is familiar, carried over from the realme 14—but still stylish and modern. At just 7.66mm thin and weighing 185g, the 15 5G remains sleek and lightweight.

This time, it comes in two new colors: Silk Pink and Suit Titanium. The futuristic Mecha Silver from the 14 didn’t make a comeback, likely because realme is pushing for a more unified design language across its lineup.

On the back, you’ll find the customizable circular “Breathing Light” LED, now upgraded to MagicGlow 2.0. It doubles as a notification light and adds flair to your shots with different colors and effects.
In terms of durability, the realme 15 5G steps things up with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, plus AGC DT-Star D+ protection for the front display—making it tougher than its predecessor.
A Curved Screen That Glows
The front is just as impressive as the back. The realme 15 5G sports a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED flat display with a stunning 94% screen-to-body ratio thanks to ultra-thin bezels.

It delivers 4500 nits peak brightness, so visibility won’t be an issue, even under harsh sunlight. Add a 144Hz refresh rate, and everything from gaming to scrolling feels smooth and responsive.
Power Under the Hood
Don’t be fooled by the missing “Pro” in the name—the realme 15 5G still packs Pro-level performance. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ chip, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

I’m already hearing the comments… “yung realme 14 Pro naka-Dimensity 7300 Energy na tapos ito may plus lang?” Well, the “+” makes a difference. In our testing, the 15 5G scored 743,348 on AnTuTu, while the D7300 Energy typically scores around 680,000–690,000.

The performance boost comes from its upgraded 7000mm² Airflow Vapor Chamber Cooling System, which keeps temps in check during long gaming sessions. AI-powered features like GT Boost also help optimize performance and gaming smoothness.
Camera

realme seems to be shifting its number series from gaming-centric to lifestyle-focused, and that’s clear with the upgraded cameras.
The realme 15 5G packs a 50MP Sony IMX882 main shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP selfie camera. Yes, you read that right—a 50MP selfie cam.

All three cameras can record 4K at 30fps, and AI features like AI Party Mode, AI Glare Removal, AI Smart Removal, AI Landscape, and AI Edit Genie (which lets you edit with voice commands) make shooting and editing more fun and intuitive.
Here are a few shots we took with the realme 15 Pro 5G.

We also took some using the front facing camera, just for good measure.

Juice for Days

Battery life is another highlight. With its massive 7,000mAh battery, the realme 15 5G can easily last a full day of heavy use—and then some.

And when you do need to top up, the included 80W SUPERVOOC fast charger gets you powered up quickly. Just plug it in before heading out, and you’ll still have plenty left for gaming at night.
Thank You, NEXT (AI)
The realme 14 Series had a ton of AI features that served not just as marketing gimmicks but as tools that vastly improved the user experience. Now, the realme 15 Series builds on that foundation with realme’s NEXT AI leading the charge.
But what is “NEXT AI”? Simply put, it’s realme’s advanced suite of AI features designed to provide users with a more pleasant experience when using the phone. These features include AI Smart Loop, which predicts your next action based on your screen content, and AI Smart Removal, which intelligently cleans up unwanted objects from your photos.
Also included in the suite is the previously mentioned AI Edit Genie, which aims to make daily tasks more intuitive and content creation more seamless.
The Content Creator Starter Pack
Earlier in the article, I mentioned that along with the realme 15 5G, realme also graciously sent us their PR Kit containing the Hollyland Lark A1 wireless microphone and an Instax Mini Link 3. Now, you might be wondering: what the heck does that have to do with the realme 15 5G?

Well, since realme’s whole shtick for the 15 5G is “Live Real In Every Shot,” they’ve positioned the phone to be an all-in-one content creation studio or maybe just something to capture memories more clearly and transform them into something more analog.

Here’s some info about the two devices included in the PR Kit:
- Hollyland Lark A1: During the camera portion of our article, we mentioned that both the rear and front cameras support video recording at up to 4K 30fps. While the internal mics itself are more than capable, the Lark A1 further ups your video recording game by eliminating background noise and providing professional studio-quality audio.
- Instax Mini Link 3: If you’re already familiar with the Instax line of cameras, then you know that it’s all about the polaroid-like printed photos. Well, the Mini Link 3 is their portable photo printer designed to instantly print your best shots and share them physically. If that doesn’t live up to realme’s motto of “Live Real In Every Shot,” then I don’t know what will.

Initial Thoughts: Should You Upgrade?
The realme 15 5G isn’t just a small refresh—it feels like a refined continuation of realme’s number series vision. With its durable yet stylish design, 144Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300+ performance, massive 7,000mAh battery, and AI-powered cameras, it checks almost every box.

While the new naming scheme might be confusing at first, the overall package is undeniably solid. By blending performance, lifestyle features, and content creation tools, the 15 5G stands out as one of the most versatile smartphones in its price bracket.
If you’re upgrading from the realme 14 or 14 Pro, the jump feels worth it. And if you’ve been waiting for a device that balances style, performance, and creativity, the realme 15 5G is making a strong case to be your next daily driver.
