I’m not sure why it exists… but I would like one…
Remember those toy phones that you used to play with or the ones that your younger siblings play with? The one that goes “ayayay I’m your little butterfly…”. That’s what I thought of when I saw this phone.
The phone I’m referring to is HMD Global’s Barbie™ Flip Phone, which will be introduced to the Indian market. If it were released during the Barbie movie’s height, I would’ve understood that this is a limited edition run in lieu of the movie, but the Barbie movie has been out for more than a year.

Nevertheless, here are the specs. The Barbie™ Flip Phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA display and a 1.77-inch external screen. It runs on the Unisoc T107 chipset with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage, but it is expandable up to 32GB via the included microSD slot.
As with any basic phone, endurance is where it excels. HMD has outfitted the device with a 1,450 mAh battery, which will give users nine hours of talk time. There’s also an included rear VGA camera with LED flash, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, an MP3 player, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C.
But you’re not buying this phone just for the features; you’re buying this for the design. HMD went all in with the Barbie branding, featuring a Barbie-themed user interface, pre-installed apps like Malibu Snake, Barbie Meditation, and Digital Balance Tips. There’s also a “Bestie Button” that allows users to assign a contact for quick calling.

The Barbie™ Flip Phone is already available in Europe and the UK with a price of £99 and €129, respectively. Prices for the Indian market will soon follow.
