Android smartphones, particularly from Google and Samsung, are now receiving over five years of software update support, making long-term device usage more practical than ever. For users planning to keep their phones for extended periods, monitoring battery health has become increasingly important. Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S25, takes a significant step forward by offering extensive battery health data.

While Google introduced detailed battery health information with Android 14, Samsung initially held back from implementing this feature in One UI 6.0. However, with the launch of One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy S25 series, users can now access vital battery details to better manage their device’s longevity.
Battery Health Features on the Galaxy S25 Series
The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra now provide the following battery insights:
- Battery health percentage: Indicates the overall condition of your battery.
- Charge cycle count: Tracks how many full charge cycles the battery has undergone.
- Battery manufacturing date: Shows when the battery was produced.
- Battery first used date: Displays when the battery was activated for the first time.
Regional Availability and Firmware Updates
It’s worth noting that these features may not be universally available. During testing, some Galaxy S25 units displayed the full suite of battery health data, while others did not. The discrepancy could be due to:
- Pending firmware updates required to activate the feature.
- Regional restrictions limiting availability in certain countries or areas.
Samsung may roll out this functionality incrementally, so users are encouraged to keep their devices updated to the latest software version.
