Samsung just unveiled its first-ever smartphone that folds twice. The Galaxy Z TriFold arrives as a bold statement: one device that can morph from a compact phone into a full-blown mini-tablet.
For fans of foldables, multitaskers, creatives, or anyone chasing maximum portability plus power, this might just be the most extreme “all-in-one” phone yet.

Triple-Fold, Triple-Screen: What’s New?

- When closed, TriFold acts like a typical flagship with a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED cover screen.
- Open it fully and you get a 10.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display — tablet-class real estate that makes multitasking, media, or document work much easier.
- The folding mechanism uses a dual-rail Armor FlexHinge system with titanium housing and reinforced frame materials. That’s Samsung’s effort to ensure durability and stability, despite the complexity of a triple-fold design.

At just 3.9 mm thick (at the slimmest point) when unfolded and weighing 309 g, the TriFold balances portability with a large viewing/work surface. It’s a wild tightrope, but Samsung seems confident it pulled it off.
Under the Hood (Specs)

The TriFold runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, Samsung’s latest powerhouse chipset, paired with 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage.
Inside, the phone hides a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery, the largest ever seen in a Samsung foldable. That’s split across the three display panels for balanced power delivery. Charging is fast (45 W wired, 15 W wireless) and it supports wireless PowerShare.
For photography and content creation, the TriFold offers a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide and a 10 MP telephoto lens. Selfies and video calls are covered by dual 10 MP front cameras (on the cover and main screen).
Samsung also integrates AI-powered tools (via Galaxy AI), plus a six-month trial for Google AI Pro, giving features like advanced video generation and 2 TB cloud storage to early adopters.
Safety Net for Early Adopters
Because folding triple-screen phones are still bleeding-edge tech, Samsung is offering a one-time 50 % discount on display repair for all TriFold buyers. That’s a thoughtful way to ease early-buyer concerns around durability and repair costs.
More than that, the TriFold supports standalone Samsung DeX, turning the device into a full desktop-like workspace when connected to a mouse and keyboard; no external screen needed. For productivity-focused users, that’s a big win.
Launch and Availability
The Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale in South Korea on December 12, 2025. After that, Samsung plans to release it in markets including China, Taiwan, Singapore, UAE, and in the first quarter of 2026, the United States will get the device too.
Global pricing hasn’t been fully revealed yet but in South Korea it’s expected to debut around KRW 3,590,400 (Around ₱144K) placing it in the premium flagship bracket that foldable aficionados usually brace for.
What will you use a tri fold device for the most?
