Globe Telecom, one of the country’s leading telecommunications providers, has announced significant progress in its 5G network rollout.
In the first half of 2024, Globe added 256 new sites to its 5G network, bringing its total coverage to 98.45% of Metro Manila and 94.19% of key cities in Visayas and Mindanao.
“Our aggressive 5G rollout across the country is a crucial part of our strategy to ensure that the Philippines is at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP and Head of Service Planning and Engineering. “We are proud to see how our investments are resulting in positive change, enabling our customers to enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are.”
Globe’s 5G expansion has been met with strong demand. As of June 2024, over 7 million devices were connected to the Globe 5G network.
Beyond domestic coverage, Globe has partnered with 167 operators in 87 destinations to offer 5G roaming services. This allows Globe customers to enjoy high-speed data connectivity both domestically and internationally, solidifying Globe’s position as a global telecommunications player.
