REDMI phones experiencing charging issues.

Got a problem with charging your Redmi phone? Xiaomi is working on a fix

Xiaomi has started rolling out their new HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. While it did bring a slew of improvements over the previous version, it also brought up some issues.

Redmi phone users have reported slow or, in some cases, incomplete charging when running HyperOS version OS2.0.2.0.VHZMIXM. Most of the slow charging concerns stem from users of the Redmi Note 12S, while Redmi Note 13 5G users have reported failing to reach a 100% charge.

Not to worry, as Xiaomi has already acknowledged the issue and is hard at work creating a fix for the issue. Meanwhile, there are a few troubleshooting steps to try if you’re one of the people affected by the charging issue.

These include:

  • Making sure the charging brick and cable are in good condition. If not, try to use a different cable or charging brick to assess the root of the issue.
  • Check if the charging port has any dirt and debris. If it does, try blowing on the port to displace the dirt and debris. DO NOT, under any circumstance, try to pick it with a metal object, as it can damage the charging port.
  • You could also try restarting the device to see if that’ll have any effect.

Again, these measures are just a temporary fix; it is still advisable for users to wait for Xiaomi’s official updates to permanently resolve these charging issues.

It’s still unsure if the problem only persists on Redmi phones or if other devices on Xiaomi’s stable are also affected. Stay tuned to our official channels to stay updated on the latest news regarding this matter.
