We’re getting a chance to experience the unique design of the Nokia Lumia 920 in HMD Skyline, expected to debut next month.
A fan-favorite Nokia phone is having a comeback soon, kind of. No, it isn’t a basic or feature phone but a full-fledged smartphone admired by its specs and unique design.
This is the Nokia Lumia 920 to be revived as HMD Skyline. Although a comeback, it isn’t a direct reincarnation because of major differences. What sets these two look similar is the Fabula design.
The HMD Skyline is part of HMD’s own lineup and is classified as a mid-range smartphone. Reports suggest that the device sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, up to 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of onboard storage.
It’s also expected to feature the following:
- FHD+ AMOLED display
- 120 Hz refresh rate
- PureDisplay HDR10+
- 108 MP OIS main camera + 8 MP + 2 MP
- 32 MP selfie camera
- 4,900 mAh battery
- 33 W fast charging
- Android 14
Besides the reasonable processor and memory, the device is alleged to have IP67 dust and water resistance, stereo speaker, and PureView. PureView is a camera tech used in Nokia smartphones and it enables image scaling with oversampling, allowing more zoom capabilities and noise reduction.
Meanwhile, the Fabula design is a signature aesthetic of many Nokia smartphones, including Lumia 920. This design is what made the Nokia N9 immortal.
Unlike other designs, the Fabula design has no unnecessary details and every nook and cranny at the front and back is seamlessly integrated. Any smartphone with Fabula design is considered timeless in the visual world.
As for the HMD Skyline’s pricing, reports suggest that the device will come in two configurations. The 8+256GB is rumored with a EUR 520 price tag, so expect the 12+256GB to be more expensive.
