Unboxing
The unboxing usually sets the tone for what’s to be expected later on. And set a tone they did, wrapping the HONOR 400 5G in a minimalist white box with only the name of the phone embossed with gold lettering found at the front and on the sides.

It’s a pretty bare, pretty standard affair. After all, the big surprise is found inside the phone itself.
Design
From the moment you lay eyes on the HONOR 400 5G, you’ll immediately think: “this costs way less than it should have,” and you’d be right. It’s thin and light, but not too light that you’ll think it’s a toy. For the numbers guy out there, the HONOR 400 5G only weighs 184 g with a thickness of 7.3mm.
Despite the thin and light profile, the feel in the hand is magnificent. Mainly due to the rounded edges, flat display, and premium materials. It’s available in four colors: Midnight Black, Tidal Blue, Meteor Silver, and the one we have here, the Desert Gold.
But don’t let that fancy exterior fool you, the HONOR 400 5G boasts an SGS 5-stars Drop Resistance rating which means it can withstand the occasional drop (just don’t drop it on purpose, that’s different…). It also features an IP66 dust and water resistance, providing peace of mind against everyday elements.
Visual Brilliance with Advanced Eye Care
And the beauty doesn’t stop there, at the front, you’ll find a stunning 6.55-inch OLED display with such vibrancy and clarity, you’ll forget that it’s a phone display. It even boasts a fluid 120Hz refresh rate that ensures every swipe and every animation is buttery smooth.
Speaking of swipes and touches, the HONOR 400 5G has a Super Rainproof Touch technology which definitely comes in clutch, especially since we’re coming up to the rainy season. This technology ensures that even in damp conditions, every interaction is registered.
Even in direct sunlight, the HONOR 400 5G guarantees clear and crystal visuals with its 5000 nits peak brightness that’s further enhanced by HONOR’s intelligent Sunlight Display Enhancement technology.
Of course, what good is a beautiful display if you can’t even enjoy it. Which is why HONOR integrated some safety features that ensures that not only are you going to enjoy the display, you’ll also be safe doing it.
These features include a 3840Hz Risk-Free Dimming that minimizes screen flicker, Hardware-Level Low Blue Light Technology to reduce exposure to the harmful blue light, Dynamic Dimming, and lastly, Circadian Night Mode to promote better sleep.
To combat things like motion sickness, which for more people than you think, is quite a concern, HONOR offers innovations like Motion Sickness Relief which counteracts nausea through visual stabilization.
Powering Your Daily Tasks and More
The HONOR 400 5G isn’t just all bark, it also bites. Underneath that elegant exterior lies Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with a generous giving of 12GB of RAM and a massive 512GB of storage. Powering all of that is a substantial 6,000 mAh Silicon Carbon battery which charges with the included 80W SuperCharge brick.
Despite not having the fastest chip (which of course would require a bump in price), it still manages to give its competitors a run for their money, especially with the included CPU Turbo X Game Engine that promises smooth operation regardless of what you throw at it.

The only thing we wish was present in the HONOR 400 5G was expandable storage but given that it’s already kitted out with 512GB, we think that’s more than plenty for day-to-day use, maybe even more.
Unleashing AI-Powered Photography
Now this is where the HONOR 400 5G shines above the rest, tucked inside that trapezoidal camera island is the star of the show, a powerful 200 MP Ultra-Clear AI Main Camera. Equipped with both Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization for a clear and stable shooting, no matter the condition.
Along with the 200 MP sensor is a 12 MP Ultra-Wide and Macro Camera, and for the selfie-takers out there, there’s an included 50 MP portrait lens, all of which are optimized with HONOR’s advanced algorithms.
Speaking of algorithms, HONOR’s AI IMAGE ENGINE takes mobile photography a step further by introducing a host of intelligent features. These features include AI Super Zoom which offers up to 30X telephoto capabilities, and AI Portrait Snap which can capture fast moving objects without a decrease in quality.

Now that we got you started on the AI bandwagon, let’s turn things up to 11. AI within the HONOR 400 Pro 5G doesn’t just cover photography, it also touches on a wide variety of aspects. These include the AI Editing Suite which introduces revolutionary tools like AI Image to Video, turning your stills into moving, almost life-like clips.
As well as AI Eraser, capable of intelligently removing unwanted objects, passers-by, or even reflections from photos, all without a trace. Meanwhile, AI Face Tune offers a clever solution to correct closed eyes in post-processing, ensuring that every shot is worth posting.
And it’s not all fun and games either, productivity has also been boosted, with HONOR integrating features like Google Gemini and “Circle to Search.” There’s also AI Writing Tools that assist with content creation and refinement, while AI Recorder offers speech-to-text conversion and intelligent summaries.

Final Verdict
“Expect more, pay less,” that’s how I would describe the HONOR 400 5G. HONOR knocked it out of the park in almost every aspect. Hardware-wise, it ticks all the boxes of what a smartphone should be. Software-wise, it blows every other phone in its class out of the water, with its useful and revolutionary AI features.
It truly delivers on its promise as “Your AI Phone,” making every interaction more intelligent, seamless, and ultimately, more enjoyable.
