HONOR’s next flagship is shaping up to be a serious contender. The Magic 8 Pro is expected to launch on October 15 in China, carrying the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.
That’s the same processor expected to power other major flagships in 2025, so performance should be top-notch. But HONOR seems to be aiming for more than just raw speed this time.
HONOR Magic 8 Pro’s Design and Specs
Leaks show a cleaner, flatter back with a circular camera module at the center. There is also a new AI button on the side, separate from the power and volume keys. It is not meant for the camera but for activating HONOR’s AI tools. That small addition hints at how HONOR wants AI to be at the core of its user experience.
The Magic 8 Pro reportedly carries a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, along with 50 MP main and 50 MP ultrawide cameras. That setup puts it right next to big names like the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera is also expected, which should deliver crisp and detailed shots.
HONOR is also testing new AI photo tools such as Magic Color, which can restyle images using color tones from another photo. It sounds like a creative and beginner-friendly way to enhance photos without much effort.
Inside, the Magic 8 Pro may pack a 7,200 mAh battery with 120W fast charging, and possibly wireless support as well.
The display is rumored to be a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. It is bright, flat, and less curved than its predecessor, which should give it a sleeker, more modern look.
These details are still based on leaks, so some specs like the exact battery capacity and charging speed might change before launch.
And while the AI features sound promising, the real test will be how useful and intuitive they feel once the phone is in users’ hands.
