HONOR is expected to launch the Magic9 series in September, and the Magic9 Pro could bring an unusual camera feature: a 1:1 square selfie sensor.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Magic9 Pro could become the first Android smartphone to use a square front-facing camera sensor.
HONOR Magic9 Pro rumored specifications
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
- Front camera: 1:1 square selfie sensor
- Main camera: 200MP, 1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57 aperture, 3-degree OIS
- Ultra-wide camera: 50MP
- Periscope telephoto: 200MP, 1/1.4-inch sensor
- Video features: ARRI videography features
The Magic9 Pro’s camera setup could also include ARRI-inspired videography features similar to those previously associated with HONOR’s Robot Phone.
HONOR has confirmed that the Magic9 series is coming in September, although the company has yet to reveal the final specifications. Previous reports also suggest the OPPO Find X10 series could use a square selfie sensor, but HONOR could get there first if the Magic9 Pro launches before it.
For now, all specifications remain unofficial.
