HONOR appears ready to continue its battery focused smartphone push, with a new leak claiming the upcoming HONOR Power3 could raise the bar even further for mainstream phones.

The report comes just months after the launch of the HONOR Power2, which debuted in January carrying a massive 10,080mAh battery.

According to a new rumor out of China, HONOR is currently developing the Power3 with a target battery capacity ranging between 11,000mAh and 12,000mAh.

The exact figure has reportedly not been finalized yet, but if the device lands anywhere within that range, it could become the highest battery capacity ever seen on a mainstream smartphone.

The HONOR Power3 is also rumored to use the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 8600 processor.

That would make it the successor to the Dimensity 8500 found inside the Power2.

Leaked specifications point to a 6.8 inch flat LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution.

Compared to the Power2, the screen specifications appear largely similar, while the biggest jump would come from the larger battery capacity and updated chipset.

If the leak proves accurate, the Power3 could increase battery size by roughly 920mAh to 1,920mAh over its predecessor depending on the final capacity HONOR chooses.

The device still appears to follow the same formula established by the Power2: large battery first, balanced with upper midrange performance hardware and a large display.

The report notes that HONOR may still be several months away from officially unveiling the Power3.

That leaves plenty of room for additional leaks and specification changes before the device becomes official.
