HONOR has officially launched its unusual Robot Phone in China, bringing a mechanical 4D gimbal camera, dual 200MP cameras, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery to a smartphone.
The Robot Phone was first teased during the Magic8 series unveiling in October 2025, followed by multiple leaks and a prototype preview at CES. It is now officially available with full specifications, pricing, and availability details.
The Robot Phone’s main camera is built into a 4D gimbal system that physically moves to help with shooting, tracking, and stabilization.
HONOR says the system required more than 60 manufacturing processes, uses over 100 precision components, and is covered by more than 100 patents.
The company calls it the industry’s smallest 4D gimbal system, claiming it is 65% smaller than traditional gimbals such as those used in DJI’s Osmo Pocket.
The gimbal uses a 2.6-gram titanium motor that is only 6mm thick, with the entire mechanism fitting inside the phone’s 9.6mm profile.
The phone itself weighs 248 grams.
The gimbal camera also works with HONOR’s H1 imaging chip and supports voice commands. Users can tell it to turn, focus on a specific point, or track a subject.
AI-powered subject tracking provides real-time auto-framing and tracking for vlogging, livestreaming, and video calls.
HONOR also designed the gimbal as an AI-powered robotic companion through its Yoyo AI assistant.
The camera can observe and interact with its surroundings and perform certain tasks autonomously. HONOR has also added more than 100 facial expressions and movements, including nodding, peeking, and dancing to music.
The Robot Phone is the first device launched through HONOR’s partnership with German cinema equipment company ARRI.

Dual 200MP cameras
Aside from the gimbal-mounted 200MP main camera, the Robot Phone also gets a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom.
There’s also a 50MP ultrawide camera, which doubles as a macro camera.
That gives the phone two 200MP cameras, with one handling the main camera duties and the other dedicated to telephoto shooting.

The HONOR Robot Phone comes in Silver and Gray.

HONOR has not confirmed an international release, and the company currently appears likely to keep the Robot Phone limited to China.
