HONOR X7d Ranked

The HONOR X7d just dropped in the Philippines with one selling point loud and clear: serious battery life. With a 6,500 mAh pack, 120Hz refresh display, and a 108MP main camera, on paper it looks like a smart move for budget-conscious buyers.

What it does well

With a 6,500 mAh battery, you’ll be sure to last the whole day, maybe even more. Storage is more than enough to do away with a microSD at either 256 or 512GB.

Despite not being known for its viewing experience, TFTs are far more durable than your usual AMOLED displays. You’ll get more use out of it, plus from a durability standpoint, the added chin at the bottom provides a bit of distance when your phone accidentally drops.

108 MP is an impressive count in it on itself but as time have proven, higher doesn’t always mean more better. Surprisingly, the HONOR X7d puts out respectable shots that are more than adequate for your usual social media postings.

Where it falls short

Although 4G LTE still offers respectable speeds, the future looks on 5G as its next standard. Having a phone built to support that lets you use your phone for longer.

While refresh rate is high, the resolution at 720p is low for the size (6.77″) which may affect clarity. Add to that the use of TFT LCD and the added chin at the bottom.

35W is okay but in 2025 many rivals offer faster charging.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 is already a 2 and a half year old chip. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a capable chip in 2025, just don’t expect it to run the latest and greatest AAA mobile games. But for everyday use, it’ll still go toe-to-toe with the best of ’em.

At ₱9,000, there are other phones that may offer stronger chips, 5G connectivity, or better displays. But, I guess if you value durability more than anything else, the HONOR X7d should be a good enough candidate.

Verdict: Sakto Lang

Given the mix of strengths and trade-offs, we rank the HONOR X7d as Sakto Lang.

Just like what we’ve mentioned in our full review of the HONOR X7d, its goal is to provide a smartphone experience without failure. However, the lack of 5G connectivity, modest display resolution plus the use of TFT displays, and mid-tier chipset, hold it back from being “Maganda Na” or “Super Sulit”.

It offers a solid bundle of features for what you pay. It’s dependable for everyday tasks, media consumption and general use. For many users it will be more than enough. But if you’re chasing max performance, the latest connectivity or flagship-level display quality, you’ll find stronger options out there.
