HONOR is reportedly preparing to launch a mid-range phone that completely redefines battery expectations. Fresh leaks surrounding the potential HONOR X80 (also tipped as the HONOR Power 2) suggest the device will feature a massive 10,000mAh battery. This move challenges the industry’s long-standing compromise between battery life and thinness.

The Power Shift: 10,000mAh in a Slim Body
The central feature is the monumental 10,000mAh power cell. This is a capacity usually reserved for bulky, niche rugged phones. Honor is expected to be the first mainstream brand to put this size battery into a standard consumer smartphone.
This engineering feat is likely enabled by advanced Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) battery technology, which offers higher energy density. Crucially, the X80/Power 2 is rumored to maintain a surprisingly slim profile, potentially around 8mm thick, finally solving the decade-old problem of pocketability versus battery anxiety.
Mid-Range Efficiency and Display
To manage this immense power efficiently, the X80 is alleged to feature a contemporary Snapdragon 7-series chipset (with some speculation pointing toward the efficient MediaTek Dimensity 8500). This strategic pairing of a capable, efficient processor with the huge battery should deliver easy multi-day usage for heavy users.
The visual experience will be provided by a large 6.8-inch flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. The display is rumored to use power-efficient LTPS technology, ensuring the screen maximizes the immense battery life. Expected to debut in the first half of next year, the “HONOR X80” represents a bold commitment to making battery endurance the primary selling point for a mainstream phone.
