HONOR may be doubling down on extreme battery life once again. After launching its WIN and WIN RT with unusually large battery capacities earlier, the brand is now tipped to bring the same endurance-first philosophy to its mainstream lineup with the upcoming HONOR X80.
Leaked details from a reliable tipster indicate the X80 will feature a 6.81-inch OLED LTPS screen with 1.5K resolution. The panel is said to have a flat design with rounded corners, and while refresh rate details aren’t confirmed, the large screen combined with OLED tech suggests a premium viewing experience.
The headline feature is a 10,000 mAh battery, the same class of cell introduced on HONOR’s WIN and WIN RT phones, and already approved by China’s 3C authority. A strong sign the phone is moving closer to launch. The exact charging speeds and whether fast or wireless charging will be included remain unreported.
Contrary to earlier rumors pointing to a Snapdragon 7-series chip, the latest leak claims HONOR is testing the X80 with a new-generation Snapdragon 6-series platform, likely the SM6850. It’s unclear whether Qualcomm will designate this as the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, but this shift aligns with HONOR’s strategy to balance performance and battery efficiency in the mid-range segment.
For context, last year’s HONOR X70 launched with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, a 6.79-inch 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display, and an 8,300 mAh battery with 80 W wired charging plus wireless support on higher-end storage versions. The X80, with its much larger battery and newer chipset, looks like a clear evolution in endurance and efficiency, though full charging and camera details are still missing.
The latest leak also suggests HONOR plans to standardize 10,000 mAh-class batteries across its X, Power, and WIN lineups as a defining feature, with the next Magic-series flagship also getting upgrades later in the year.
