An advertisement announcing that HUAWEI relaunches the Snapdragon 680 for the Nova 14i. The image features two smartphones standing upright: a light blue one and a black one. Both phones have a large, circular camera module on the back, with the black phone's module accented in gold. A small black chip with the "Snapdragon 680" branding is placed in the foreground between the two phones. The background shows abstract blue, icy, or dragon-like imagery. A yellow banner at the bottom reads, "HUAWEI relaunches Snapdragon 680 for the Nova 14i."

HUAWEI launches Nova 14i – Goods or Not?

HUAWEI is adding a fourth model to its Nova 14 lineup, but the HUAWEI Nova 14i is not a new phone, it’s a direct re-release.

The device is simply a rebranded version of the 2023 HUAWEI Enjoy 60X (also known as the Nova Y91), delivering a large screen and massive battery, but recycling two-year-old hardware. This move is a clear strategy to fill a mid-range price slot by prioritizing affordability and battery life over performance innovation.

Nova 14i Specifications

  • Battery: Its main selling point is the huge 7,000mAh battery, offering exceptional endurance. However, charging is slow at just 22.5W wired speed.
  • Display: It features a large 6.95-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It notably retains a prominent notch and confusingly advertises Always-on Display (AOD) functionality despite the LCD panel.
  • Optics: Camera performance is modest, featuring a dual setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.
  • Software: The phone runs HUAWEI’s latest EMUI 14.2.

The Price-Performance Question

The success of the Nova 14i will entirely depend on its final retail price and whether local consumers value the 7,000mAh battery enough to ignore the significant performance deficit compared to other brands in 2025.

The Nova 14i will be offered in new black and blue color options.
