HUAWEI has officially confirmed the launch date for its next generation nova lineup. The HUAWEI nova 16 series is set to debut in China on June 1, and the company has already started teasing the designs of all four upcoming smartphones ahead of the announcement.
Alongside the phones, HUAWEI will also unveil the HUAWEI MatePad Pro Max, which recently made its global debut earlier this month.
Huawei nova 16 Series Will Include Four Models
HUAWEI confirmed that the nova 16 family will consist of:
- Huawei nova 16
- Huawei nova 16 Pro
- Huawei nova 16z
- Huawei nova 16 Ultra
The company has also opened reservations for the devices in China ahead of launch day.
nova 16 Pro and Ultra Get a More Premium Camera Design
HUAWEI’s teaser images reveal that the nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra will feature triple rear camera setups.
The camera sensors and LED flash are placed inside two large circular rings positioned on top of a rectangular camera island.
HUAWEI also showcased the nova 16 Pro in:
- Sky Blue
- Iridescent finish
Standard nova 16 and nova 16z Use Different Camera Layouts
The standard nova 16 keeps a similar overall design language as the Pro and Ultra variants but switches to a dual rear camera setup.
Meanwhile, the nova 16z arrives with a completely different rear design featuring:
- Pill shaped camera module
- Dual rear cameras
- Dual LED flashes
Front Camera Designs Also Differ Across the Lineup
The teaser images also reveal differences in the front camera layouts.
The nova 16 Pro and nova 16 Ultra appear to feature:
- Dual front cameras
- Pill shaped display cutout
Meanwhile, the standard nova 16 and nova 16z use:
- Single selfie cameras
- Hole punch cutouts
Rumored nova 16 Ultra Specs
HUAWEI has not yet confirmed detailed specifications, but recent leaks claim the nova 16 Ultra could arrive with:
- 6.84 inch LTPO display
- Kirin 9 series chipset
- 7,000mAh battery
- 50 megapixel main camera
- 1/1.3 inch camera sensor
HUAWEI is expected to reveal more official details about the nova 16 series in the days leading up to the June 1 launch event.
