HUAWEI looks set to refresh its Nova lineup soon, with early leaks hinting that the Nova 16 series could break cover on June 1. The date comes from Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital, though HUAWEI has yet to make anything official.

Instead of expanding the range, HUAWEI appears to be tightening it. Current information points to three models only: Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro, and Nova 16 Pro Max. Notably absent is an Ultra variant, which was part of the previous generation.
Color choices also split depending on the model. The standard Nova 16 and Pro versions are expected in black, white, blue, and a gradient option. The Pro Max, on the other hand, may drop the gradient finish entirely and stick with more straightforward black, white, and blue variants.
Most of the early hardware details revolve around the Nova 16 Pro Max. A separate Weibo leak outlines a 200 megapixel main camera paired with a large 1 over 1.28 inch sensor. The exact sensor has not been named, but the teaser itself suggests Huawei is putting emphasis on this component.
The camera system may also include a periscope telephoto lens along with a multispectral sensor, expanding its capabilities beyond standard shooting modes.
The Pro Max variant is also rumored to carry a 6.84 inch LTPO display with 1.5K resolution. Powering the device could be a Kirin 9000 series chipset.
Battery capacity is expected to reach 7000mAh, with wireless charging included.
Context From the Previous Generation
The Nova 15 series launched late last year using Kirin 8020 and Kirin 9010S processors. Pricing started at 2699 yuan (₱24,478*). That lineup also included an Ultra model, though it focused more on design changes rather than major internal upgrades.
