HUAWEI’s new flip phone offering will be powered by Kirin 9000 SoC but quite a downgrade compared to its previous clamshell.
It’s the HUAWEI nova Flip and it may get either the Kirin 9000S (nova 12 Ultra) or the Kirin 9010 (Pura 70 lineup). Though, it could be an all-new SoC.
Popular tipsters, Digital Chat Station, leaked the specs of the HUAWEI nova Flip. The handset’s main display is a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate while the cover screen is a 2.14-inch OLED with 60 Hz refresh rate.
The main camera system is led by the 50 MP, 1/1.56” f/1.9 RYYB sensor, paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor. The selfie camera is a 32 MP sensor. It’s also equipped with a 4,400 mAh battery that supports 66 W turbo charging.
Some of aspects, the HUAWEI nova Flip looks nerfed compared to the HUAWEI Pocket 2, which featured four rear cameras and a slightly bigger 4,520 mAh battery. This device sports ultra-wide, telephoto, and spectral sensors.
Although unconfirmed, the HUAWEI nova Flip may have different storage configurations with up to 12 GB of RAM. Leaked specs suggested 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities.
In terms of dimension and weight, the device is 6.88 mm thick if unfolded and 15.00 to 15.12 mm if folded. The weight varies depending on the color variant: 195 g for the leather variant and 199 g for the glass variant.
It will be launched in four color options: New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. No price right now but the launch is expected to be on August 5.
