HUAWEI WATCH D2: Your 24/7 ABPM Smartwatch

Revolutionizing health and wellness, meet the HUAWEI WATCH D2: the Philippines’ first smartwatch with ambulatory blood pressure monitoring!

It’s finally here! A fashionable, high-end smartwatch that accurately tracks your health and fitness and is capable of ABPM. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 is a slim, lightweight, and highly advanced health-centric wearable designed for health-conscious peeps and those who want all-day, all-night BP tracking.

Unboxing

The HUAWEI WATCH D2 comes in a square white box. The wearable is the first thing seen after opening the package.

Below its cushion are two smaller containers where you can find everything else you need to get started. On the left is the paperwork to learn how to set up the strap and how to wear it correctly. It documents the proper posture for standard single blood pressure measurement. Incorrect postures are shown as well.

On the right is where you can find the strap, wrist circumference ruler, and smartwatch’s wireless charger. The wrist circumference ruler is needed to correctly measure your wrist and for accurate blood pressure measurement.

Design

The main screen of the HUAWEI WATCH D2 is squarish in form while the display is an AMOLED panel that spans 1.82 inches. The physical buttons are placed on the right and they are composed of a rotating crown and function and ECG button. No physical keys are found on the left.

Hold and press the rotating crown to turn on the HUAWEI WATCH D2. After the HarmonyOS logo appears, the time, date, pulse, and heart rate will be displayed. Don’t be shocked if the metrics are blank because the device must be worn to track vitals.

Swiping across the AMOLED display is smooth and responsive. The display seems to have excellent dimming because no obvious flickering is observed. You can use the smartwatch under bright lights, thanks to its 1500 nits of peak brightness.

Besides the polished software, the overall physical design of the HUAWEI WATCH D2 is well-made. The device is lightweight at 40 g (without the strap) and slim at only 13.3 mm.

The wearable is available in Gold and Black colorways. The Gold model is radiant to look at with its chic visuals. The Black model has an undeniable sporty and outdoorsy aura.

But can the HUAWEI WATCH D2 handle the ickiness during physical activities? Don’t fret because the smartwatch is sweat-resistant! No need to worry about discomfort because the wearable is also skin-friendly!

Additionally, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 features an ultra-narrow 26.5-mm mechanical airbag. You can easily remove and replace it with just a single press.

Customization

Apart from having two colorways, you can customize the display to give the HUAWEI WATCH D2 a deeper personality. Use watch faces and Always-on-Display to express your mood and show your passion right from your wrist.

You can select between two base design concepts, Regular Dial and AOD. These concepts support analog watch faces, digital watch faces, and even watch faces with beautiful wallpapers. The main difference between these two is that AOD turns off some elements to highlight the natural black of the AMOLED panel.

Technologies

The HUAWEI WATCH D2 isn’t just for show. It has top-notch technologies, including live-saving features like ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). This monitoring is important because both hypertensive and non-hypertensive people can get insights into their blood pressure circadian rhythms.

You can measure your BP in many scenarios, whether watching a movie, sitting at your desk, or taking a break from your exercise. Just follow the posture indicated in the user manual.

Remember that the ABPM feature is not a source of medical advice or a tool to self-diagnose medical conditions. It only provides measurement results that a clinician can use as a reference.

Thus, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 is not a replacement for diagnostic tools used in medical practice. Users should always consult with their physician.

Other health-related features of the smartwatch include:

  1. Health Glance: A report of six key indicators in intuitive charts and graphs.
  2. Beat-by-Beat ECG Analysis: Get real-time data after touching the electrode on the side for 30 seconds.
  3. Sleep Monitoring: Keep tabs on sleep-related data, such as heart rate and breathing patterns, during sleep.
  4. Sleep Mode: Clear your mind with white noise, natural soundscapes, or relaxing music.
  5. Stress Monitor: See your stress level and get handy tricks to help you manage it.
  6. Skin Temperature: Check your skin temperature when you’re exercising or feeling unwell.
  7. SpO2 Monitor: Be informed of your blood oxygen levels.

To maximize the HUAWEI WATCH D2, connect it to the HUAWEI Health app. It’s a suite of health and fitness features to kickstart your fitness life and more.

Beyond health and fitness, the HUAWEI WATCH D2 can also take a screenshot that goes straight to your phone’s Gallery, answer or reject calls via Bluetooth, and more. Don’t forget about the apps installed on the smartwatch too!
