Here are the six major improvements reportedly coming to the POCO launcher, courtesy of HyperOS 2.0.
HyperOS 2.0 is set to arrive on a plethora of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices. So, what can POCO users expect?
1. Better Desktop
With HyperOS 2.0, POCO devices will get a minimalist desktop layout with extra options for those who love to customize. The top space in the desktop layout will also be removed for a cleaner appearance. Here are the new layout choices:
- 4×6 with Search Box
- 4×7 without Search Box
- 5×8 with Search Box
- 5×9 without Search Box
2. Enhanced UI and Animations
Everyone loves animations and the POCO launcher is getting some love from HyperOS 2.0. The software upgrade will add more fluid interface for smoother animations when opening and closing folders.
The Recent Apps will get an iOS-style multitasking interface for a simplified app launching and switching. Better transitions and improved system responsiveness will be delivered by the MIUI v3 UI Library integration.
3. Improved Gestures
Do you use gesture controls? Those who are struggling with gestures, just to preserve the AMOLED panel, can expect more refined gesture experience and easier navigation from HyperOS 2.0.
The refined gesture controls work with folder customization, such as naming or updating, and 2K displays. Speaking of 2K resolution, pop-up menus are optimized for improved visualization.
4. Redesigned App Vault
Not many enjoy the App Vault on HyperOS 2.0 due to many things, including the lack of third-party widgets. However, a report showed that both calendar and weather widgets are getting an upgrade on this UI version.
Anyway, the reported improvement for the App Vault on the new POCO launcher includes the revamp of the menu for easier management of shortcuts and frequently used apps. The revamp also adds a better look. Let’s hope that more third-party apps will be supported this time.
5. Additional Enhancements
Having a hard time reading text on your POCO phone? HyperOS 2.0 will increase the font size on the POCO Launcher so you can read the drawer bar tabs better.
If you’ve experienced a bug where icons disappear after closing apps, you can say goodbye to that annoyance with the HyperOS 2.0 bringing the long-awaited fix.
6. Bug Fixes and Optimization
Here’s a snip of the bug fixes and optimization arriving with HyperOS 2.0 and the new POCO Launcher:
- Fix for the abnormal return animation after tapping on large icons.
