HyperOS 2 revealed with better performance, more AI features, and a list of eligible devices

HyperOS 2 is now live on the Xiaomi 15 Series, bringing in a ton of new stuff, including more AI functions.

During the Xiaomi 15 Series launch, the brand unveiled three core implementations in HyperOS 2. These are HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI, each contributing to the overall improved user experience. Check out the specific changes and additions from HyperOS below.

1. New Lockscreen

The first version of HyperOS introduced a fresh take on the lock screen. Xiaomi expanded on it in HyperOS 2 by adding the “movie-like” lock screen feature, integrated with AI to generate dynamic wallpapers. The lock screen also gets the following enhancements:

  • More and richer widgets
  • New and smoother animations
  • New 3D weather representation in the Weather app

2. New Desktop

Control your phone’s desktop even more with the refined desktop layout. On top of the visual and animation overhaul, it also features:

  • A windowed interface to control your phone from your tablet
  • Cross-device clipboard
  • Cross-device video recording

Previously, new widgets for the Weather and Calendar apps leaked and it looks like they are included in HyperOS 2.

3. New AI Functions

  • AI Magic Painting: Use 7 styles of fine-tuning and generative AI to turn your sketches into images.
  • AI Voice Recognition: Real-time text conversion during recording or automatic summary after recording.
  • AI Writing Tools: Write conveniently using text generation, summarization, and error correction.
  • AI Translation: Real-time multi-language translation for calls, meetings, and videos.
  • AI Anti-Fraud: Detect fraudulent calls or face-swapping calls.

4. Upgraded Performance

HyperOS 2 also introduced performance upgrades like a new scheduler, better memory handling, and a remodeled rendering pipeline. These should significantly optimize the overall performance of eligible devices.

HyperOS 2 is rolling out in China first while the global version may launch in early 2025. Check out the eligible devices below.
