HyperOS 3 is built on a new generation of Xiaomi’s HyperCore technology, and the performance numbers are impressive. The update is said to deliver a 4% reduction in CPU load and a 10% increase in energy efficiency. More importantly for gamers and power users, the system boasts an 18.9% decrease in the frame loss rate. This translates to a more fluid experience, with 21% faster app launches and a 9% reduction in touch response latency.

Redesigned User Interface

Visually, HyperOS 3 introduces a refined design with a focus on fluidity and information density. The new Xiaomi Super Island is a dynamic notification hub that provides real-time updates for live activities, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. The lock screen has also been completely redesigned, allowing users to create AI dynamic wallpapers that add depth effects to photos. The updated interface also includes a refreshed look for app icons and system-wide animations.

Smarter Connectivity

Xiaomi’s “Human x Car x Home” vision takes a major step forward with HyperOS 3. The Super XiaoAi Assistant is now more context-aware, and the new “Circle to Search” feature enables users to get instant information on anything on their screen by simply circling it.

The most notable update for global users is the enhanced cross-platform connectivity with the Apple ecosystem. HyperOS 3 now allows users to mirror up to three mobile app windows on a Mac, use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock their Xiaomi phone, and seamlessly share files and photos between their Xiaomi and Apple devices.

Rollout Timeline

The beta rollout for HyperOS 3 has already begun in China for the flagship Xiaomi 15 series, REDMI K80 series, and the Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup.
