Infinix GT 30 Pro All-day 120FPS Gaming Master Edition Review

Just as promised! Our full and in-depth review of Infinix’s latest mid-range gaming phone, the GT 30 Pro. We’ve already covered the basics in our unboxing and first impressions, now it’s time to put the GT 30 Pro to the test. Does it have what it takes to conquer the mid-range mobile gaming market?

You’ve already seen us unbox the Infinix GT 30 Pro so we’ll skip over that and head on over to business. But, if you still haven’t seen that, click here to read our unboxing and first impressions.

Where Tech Meets Art

Given that the GT 30 Pro is catered towards gamers, it’s no surprise that Infinix went towards the edgy and cyberpunk direction when designing the GT 30 Pro. Infinix calls it the “Cyber Mecha Design 2.0.” It’s available in three colors: Shadow Ash, Blade White, and Dark Flare (Gaming Master Edition) which is the one that we have here.

While we’ve previously seen this design language in other gaming-oriented phones, the GT 30 Pro stands out by incorporating a dynamic lighting feature called Mechanical Light Waves. And it’s not just for show, the phone lights up to alert you if there are incoming calls, messages, inform you of the charging status, and be a sort-of signal when you deal damage or take damage from enemies.

Speaking of damage, the GT 30 Pro boasts an IP64 Splash, Water, and Dust Resistance, making sure that you only deal damage on the virtual realm and not on your phone.

If you want something a little more lowkey, you’ll find the other colorways to be a much more subtle choice, emitting just a soft white glow, unlike the Dark Flare Gaming Master Edition which has full RGB pulses.

Game On, Eyes Protected

Before we get into the nitty gritty, let’s first talk about the display. In gaming, performance is only half the story, you also need to have the corresponding visuals because what good is there in having the fastest chip when what you’re looking at looks awful.

Thankfully, Infinix delivers on both aspects with the GT 30 Pro having a stunning 6.78-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, coupled with a 93.7 screen-to-body ratio, and you have yourself a beautiful and immersive gaming experience.

Being the gift that keeps on giving, the GT 30 Pro also has a 2160Hz Instant Touch Sampling Rate, a 2304Hz PWM Dimming feature, and TUV Low Blue Light Certification. All that in a package that’s wrapped with Corning Gorilla® Glass 7i and features an Always-on display.

Capturing the Victory

Before we get lost in the amazing performance that the GT 30 Pro has, let’s first talk about the camera. We mentioned in our unboxing and first impressions that one aspect that performance-oriented devices usually cut corners is the camera.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro proves to be an exception. Featuring a dual camera setup that consists of an 108 MP wide lens and an 8 MP ultrawide, and having the ability to record video at 4K@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60/120/240fps. Meanwhile, the selfie camera consists of a 13 MP wide lens capable of shooting 4K@30fps.

We’ve taken the liberty of shooting some sample pictures so that you can be the judge of the GT 30 Pro’s camera performance.

Here’s some that we took outside the office.

For a phone that mainly focuses on giving you the most performance out of your money, the camera performs admirably well, especially when you compare it to similar performance-oriented phones. It puts up a respectable fight, making it a well rounded phone capable of more than just gaming.

Unrivaled Power

We’ve teased you enough, let’s talk performance. Inside the GT 30 Pro lies a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate 5.5G chip. This chip can achieve an AnTuTu score north of 1.5M, obliterating its rivals and even going as far as punching above its weight class.

Benchmark scores are great and all, but how does it fare in real-world usage? The GT 30 Pro has an All-Day 120 FPS System that ensures you’ll get a smooth, full frame experience that never lets up even in prolonged sessions. It’s also certified to reach 120 FPS in popular titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, and Call of Duty Mobile.

Watch us put the Infinix GT 30 Pro to its paces.

Besides the All-Day 120 FPS System, Infinix has also developed a 3D Vapor Cloud Chamber Cooling (3DVCC) system that combines a unique design with ultra-conductive graphite. This combo improves heat dissipation by 20%, effectively lowering the core chip temperature by up to 3°C, meaning no more thermal throttling in extreme loads.

What about storage? Infinix also got that covered. Equipping the GT 30 Pro with up to 12GB of high-speed LPDDR5X RAM (expandable up to 24GB) and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

All of this is powered by a 5500 mAh battery, charged with a 45W wired fast charger. Aside from wired charging, the GT 30 Pro also supports 30W wireless charging, 10W reverse wired charging, and 5W wireless reverse charging.

Features Engineered for Victory

In addition to having a kick-ass display and raw performance, Infinix ups the ante by including console-level control with the GT Trigger. These are touch-sensitive capacitive shoulder buttons that provide ultra-responsive control without requiring physical pressure.

The shoulder buttons can easily be customized through X-BOOST. For example, in MOBAs like MLBB or HOK, you can instantly switch gear, open maps, or activate key items. While in FPS games like CODM and PUBG, you can use the shoulder buttons to trigger scoping, crouching, or burst-fire combos.

And it’s not just for gaming, it’s practical as well, with the triggers functioning as a shortcut for snapping photos, controlling media, or launching apps.

Infinix also paid attention to audio, with the GT 30 Pro delivering a rich audio experience through the Dual Stereo Speakers and support for Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio. Ensuring clear, immersive sound that enhances the gaming experience.

The Gaming Kit

While we’re on the subject of gaming-oriented features, you can elevate your gaming experience by copping the optional gaming kit. The gaming kit includes the following:

MagCharge Cooler: Weighing just 78g, this magnetic cooling fan can improve cooling efficiency by 30%. Positioned in the middle, out of the usual hand-held areas. In addition to cooling the phone, it also serves as a wireless charger and a stand, so win-win!

MagCase: While there’s already an included case in the box, this case doesn’t just take the style up a notch, it also provides some useful features like making sure the MagCharge Cooler sticks on the phone while simultaneously supporting wireless charging.

Gaming in Style

If you thought the GT 30 Pro looked good, wait till you see the kit they’ve sent us.

Infinix really does know how to exude swag. Inside the kit, there’s a cool Infinix-branded cap, a comfy black tee and a short-sleeved jersey that sports the Infinix GT logo, and a stylish tote bag that has the word “winstreak” written on it.

I’m sure you’re thinking, how does it look? Well to quench your thirst, here’s our very own UD writer, Sly, repping the Infinix swag.

Look at him oozing swagoo with all those Infinix goodies.

More Than Just Gaming

One advantage of the D8350 Ultimate over the standard one is that it supports 5.5G. Also known as 5G-Advanced, while not the next major step in mobile connectivity, it does offer a sort of half-step before 6G comes. It offers significant enhancements in speed, reliability, and efficiency.

Aside from having 5.5G, it also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, the most advanced connectivity technologies that we currently have.

Your Game, Amplified

The Infinix GT 30 Pro is really a class of its own, not only does it blow the competition out of the park, but it also goes beyond its class and challenges phones that are double the price. It’s the embodiment of what a gaming phone aspires to be: a versatile, feature-packed device that’s relatively affordable for everyone.
