Infinix Hot 30i vs Tecno Spark 10C: Another one bites the dust!

Diving into the world of budget smartphones, pitting two fierce competitors against each other. In the red corner, we have the Infinix Hot 30i, and in the blue corner, we have the Tecno Spark 10C. What makes this matchup so mind-boggling, you ask?

These two phones not only play in the same price category, they also happen to have the same chipset and many other components that we will scrutinize right now. First let us focus on the design.

Design

Right on the first glance, both phones seem to adopt a magnified camera design style which makes the cameras pop. It also gives sense of power and exaggeration making them more fearless and versatile.

They both have a plastic back and a front glass which is expected in entry level smartphones. One phone, (Tecno Spark 10C) however, has a better overall back look with a dedicated camera island which borrows the style of most flagship smartphones. This definitely gives it an edge in this round and makes it a more desirable device all in all.

Display

Both the Tecno Spark 10C and the Infinix Hot 30 have a 720 X 1612 display with 90Hz refresh rate. They both use the same IPS LCD that is commonly found in every budget phone. Both also have a water drop notch. Perhaps the only way to differentiate the winner in this round is to look at the size of the display. The Tecno Spark 10C is slightly bigger with a 6.6 inch display versus the 6.56 inch display on the Infinix Hot 30i. This in turn means that the Spark 10C offers a bigger screen to body ration and a more immersive viewing experience.

Performance

Here is the issue that matters the most, performance! While both phones have the same chipset, and GPU, the Tecno Spark 10C has a bigger RAM option. It comes with 8Gb of RAM, allowing it to load apps fast, process data faster and generally give a smoother operating experience. Both phones come with their respective UI based on Android 12 but they are essentially from the same parent, Transion.

So, they are are bound to have similarities in the Operating system and user interface. That includes the ever troubling bloatware. Conclusively Tecno Spark 10C is a better choice when it comes to performance. Both the Tecno Spark 10C and the Infinix Hot 30i have the same 5000mAh battery with the same 18W charging speed. They also have the same USD tYPE c 2.0 charging port so its definitely a tie.

Camera

The Tecno spark 10C has a slightly better camera with a 16MP rear camera along with the 0.08MP depth sensor. The Infinix Hot 30i has a 13MP rear camera and the same 0.08P depth sensor. While the difference is not astounding, you will likely get sharper images with the Spark 10C that the Hot 30i. The front facing camera is the same for both phones (8MP) and the both takeB 1080 resolution videos at 30 frames per second.

Price

The Tecno Spark 10C costs ₱5,499 while the Infinix Hot 30i costs slightly more at ₱5,599. It is quite obvious that the Tecno Spark 10C is the way to go. This does not necessarily discredit the the Infinix Hot 30i because it is still a great budget friendly option.
