Infinix HOT 50 Pro+: 5 Reasons Why It’s a Great (or Not-So-Great) Buy

Here are the five reasons why the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ is a great buy, and the not-so-great ones.

Infinix is back with HOT 50 Pro+ priced at an SRP of PHP 8,499. It features innovative design and build, but is it worth every penny?

The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100, one of the most capable chipsets in this range. It’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM for smooth multitasking and sufficient storage for apps, games, and more.

While the previous iteration of the series was known as an entry-level, the new Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ has a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It even sports stereo speakers and Hi-Res audio, making it a mid-range offering.

For photography, it has a 50MP main lens and a 2MP depth sensor at the back, while a lone 13MP sensor handles daily selfies. Not outstanding but enough for everyday social media uploads.

In the power department, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ boasts a 5,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging rate. With native battery tools inside, the handset should last for at least a day.

Reasons Why It’s a Great Buy

  • Curved AMOLED panel and 6.8mm ultra-thin profile
  • 3.5mm headphone jack and JBL audio tuning
  • Corning Gorilla Glass and IP54 dust and splash resistance
  • 5-year TUV performance fluency certification and 4-year battery durability
  • Bypass charging

Not-So-Great Reasons

  • Mediocre chipset with an average AnTuTu score of 437,528 points
  • Mali-G57 GPU limits playability on certain titles, including open-world games
  • Unknown software support upgrade period
  • No 5G for its price, traded for an AMOLED panel
  • Under-utilized AMOLED due to 1080p resolution

Alternatives to the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ are based on the priority factor. For example, the itel P55 5G has a good price for better mobile connectivity, while the TECNO POVA 6 Neo has a higher battery capacity. The nubia Neo 2 5G can provide 5G, a large battery, and higher performance at a slightly steeper price.
