Not a month has passed and here we are reviewing another Infinix smartphone. Infinix just can’t help themselves, can they? Launched alongside the industry disrupter, the HOT 60 Pro+, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro is more than just a copy of its slimmer and lighter sibling, it’s here to redefine the budget gaming phone scene and be the best one there is.

Unboxing: All Set, Right Out of the Box

As with the HOT 60 Pro+’ unboxing, there’s really not much to discuss when it comes to the packaging. But where there is much to discuss is with its inclusions. As far as we can remember, Infinix is one of the select few that provides everything you need to get you started. No more going to the mall to buy a screen protector or a case, you’re already done and dusted the moment you slide open that box.

Inside, you’ll find the following:

  • The Infinix HOT 60 Pro itself
  • 45W Fast Charger
  • USB Type-C Cable
  • SIM Ejector Tool
  • Transparent Hard Protective Shell
  • UV Tempered Glass
  • A Cleaning Kit for tempered glass application
  • Side Port Sealing Stickers
  • And lastly, some documentations including the Quick Start Guide and Warranty

Design & Build: Design That Pops, Build That Lasts

While not as crazy thin as the Pro+, it’s still remarkably thin at 6.6mm and definitely light at only 170g. It’s exceptionally comfortable to hold, all because of its smooth R-curved corners that perfectly match the camera arc, contributing to a refined silhouette and a “Color-Pop Design.”

Color options are also plentiful with Infinix offering the HOT 60 Pro in a host of cool colors like Sleek Black, Titanium Silver, Coral Tides, and Sapphire Blue.

Durability has also been at the top of Infinix’s priority, fitting it out with a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for the display and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It can even withstand drops from up to 1.5m, just don’t drop it on purpose, please?

Display: Peak Brightness, Peak Vibes

Definitely a standout feature of the HOT 60 Pro is its stunning display. The 6.78-inch 1.5K Bezel-Free AMOLED display provides a vibrant and immersive experience. While the 144Hz refresh rate ensures that every swipe and every interaction is as smooth as a baby’s butt.

Even sunlight is no match for its impressive 4500 nits peak brightness, and for the night? The 2160Hz PWM dimming technology ensures that prolonged use at night won’t strain your eyes.

But what about gaming? I thought this would be the best budget gaming smartphone. Hold your horses because Infinix kitted this phone with a 2160Hz instant touch sampling rate, perfect for fast paced gaming. And, for added convenience and security, the HOT 60 Pro features an In-Display Fingerprint sensor.

Performance: Budget Chip, Big Energy

Alright, now that we’ve got you primed up, it’s time to put the Infinix HOT 60 Pro to its paces. Inside the Infinix HOT 60 Pro lies a MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, the same one you’ll find on the Pro+.

Out of the box, it comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which can be expanded to 16GB via the extended RAM feature. While storage can either be 128GB or 256GB, both UFS 2.2, which can also be expanded up to 2TB via the dedicated microSD slot.

To add to the G200’s power, Infinix put in a robust cooling system aimed at managing thermals during extended usage, crucial for maintaining performance during long gaming sessions. And just like fine wine, the Helio G200 has a “5-Year Performance TÜV Fluency,” meaning the performance retains its smoothness even after 3-5 years.

Camera: Lights, Camera, Action—On a Budget

Fun fact, even though the Infinix HOT 60 Pro has three cutouts for cameras, two of them are auxiliary lenses. Meanwhile, one of those cutouts contains a 50 MP lens with autofocus and dual-LED flash. It’s not a flagship-level camera by any means, and we don’t expect it to, but it does produce sharp and detailed photos especially in well-lit conditions.

Meanwhile, the front-facing camera gets a 13 MP sensor, perfect for clear selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras support video recording of up to 2K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. Processing has also been improved with the help of AI with Infinix’s latest AI RAW image processing enhancing detail, color accuracy, and low-light performance.

There’s also a ton of modes you can toggle to improve the shooting experience, these include Vlog, AI Cam, Portrait, Super Night, Slow Motion, and Time-Lapse, just to name a few.

Check out the shots we took with the Infinix HOT 60 Pro and judge them for yourselves. Here are the ones we took with the rear 50 MP camera:

And for good measure, we also put the front 13 MP sensor to the test, to see how it performs in our selfie test.

Overall, details look sharp but not to the point that it looks unnatural. Despite direct lighting, the image retains the subject’s skin tone without appearing washed out. Again, we don’t expect the Infinix HOT 60 Pro to produce DSLR level shots, but for day-to-day use, it’s more than enough to do the job.

Battery & Charging: Power That Lasts (And Then Some)

Probably one of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro’s strongest suits is its massive 5160 mAh battery, surely lasting you the whole day, maybe even more depending on the use. What’s even better is that while other smartphone batteries only last 2-4 years, the HOT 60 Pro’s can last 5 years and retain over 80% of its health even after 1800 charging cycles.

When it’s time to recharge, the 45W FastCharge technology can top you up to 50% in just 22 minutes. And if there’s someone you know in need of a bit of juice, the HOT 60 Pro can lend a helping hand with the 10W reverse wired charging support.

Software & AI Features: One-Tap Infinix AI with Folax and Friends

Right out of the box, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro runs XOS 15.1 on top of Android 15. While there is some bloatware, it’s not as much as other OSes, plus you can easily uninstall them if you want. On top of that, the HOT 60 Pro offers support for 3 years of major Android upgrades plus 5 years of security patches, covering you from Android 15 to 18.

And as with any smartphone released in the last year or so, AI is also present in the HOT 60 Pro. Toggled by the dedicated AI button, it summons Folax, Infinix’s smart assistant as well as the whole “Adaptive One-Tap Infinix AI” ecosystem.

There’s a lot more in Folax than meets the eye. Folax integrates features like AI Summarize, AI Image Extender, AI Call Translation, and the ability to create AI wallpapers, enhancing productivity and creativity. The system also includes AI Eye Comfort modes for reduced eye strain during gaming and a Sleep Aid Mode.

How’s that for AI?
