Infinix NOTE 40 5G Review: Ultra-fast gaming, with a large storage, all for under Php 13k!

Infinix has carved a niche for itself by offering impressive features at budget-friendly prices. With their latest smartphone release, the Infinix NOTE 40 5G, is it still impressive?

The highly-anticipated Infinix NOTE 40 5G enters the scene, upholding the brand’s reputation for delivering capable mid-range smartphones at attractive prices.

Let’s take an exclusive peek at one of the most anticipated phone this year.

Quick Unboxing

There’s something unique about this unboxing right? Well, Infinix, as the official smartphone partner of MPL Philippines, has teamed up with MLBB for the All Star Collaboration.

This collaboration is a perfect fit, as Infinix smartphones are known for their powerful performance and immersive gaming experience – ideal for dominating the battlefield in MLBB. Just look at this special edition box sleeve featuring Esmeralda’s stunning new skin, “Astral Muse.”

Unbox the Infinix NOTE 40 5G to find a 33W wired charger with cable, a 15W wireless charging pad for flexible power options, a protective MagCase, and essential documents, all nestled in premium packaging.

The Infinix NOTE 40 5G turns heads with its stunning design. A luxurious glass back, smooth to the touch, elevates the phone’s aesthetics. Our Titan Gold colorway showcases this perfectly, while also offering a smudge-resistant finish.

This phone boasts a comprehensive 108-megapixel Active Halo Design triple-camera system, equipped with Quad-LED flash, HDR, super zoom capabilities, panoramic capture functionality, and the ability to record 2k video at 30 frames per second.

Also, the Infinix NOTE 40 5G has two loudspeakers, located above and below the phone. Additionally, the phone features a convenient Type-C charging port and a dedicated SIM tray below. While a headphone jack isn’t present, this might be a common trend in modern phone design.

The phone’s volume rocker and power button is located on its right side. This is a typical design for mid-range smartphones so there’s nothing much to see here.

Before the display, we need to mention the selfie camera first. It is a 32MP camera with a wide sensor. It has Dual-LED flash, HDR and capable of 1080p@30fps video recording.

The Infinix NOTE 40 5G pushes the boundaries of visual experience for a mid-range device. Its 6.78-inch FLEXIBLE AMOLED display boasts exceptional clarity and vibrant colors; this translates to sharp visuals with defined text, even at a 1080p resolution. Moreover, the display boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring seamless scrolling and a responsive experience.

The seamless display is further enhanced by an under-display fingerprint scanner for secure and instant unlocking.

Under the hood, this phone packs a punch with a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor and up to 12GB of RAM(expandable up to 24GB) which is paired with 512GB of ROM, offering smooth performance and ample storage for even the most demanding users.

The Infinix NOTE 40 5G can handle many games with good graphics settings, delivering a smooth and enjoyable experience. While demanding titles like Genshin Impact might require lowered settings for optimal performance, the phone is well-suited for a wide variety of games.

The Infinix NOTE 40 5G packs a punch in the camera department with a sophisticated triple-camera system on the back. The main highlight is a whopping 108-megapixel sensor, housed in a unique “Active Halo Design.” This system is well-equipped for various shooting scenarios, thanks to features like a Quad-LED flash for low-light conditions, HDR for capturing details in both bright and dark areas, and impressive zooming capabilities to get you closer to the action. You can also capture stunning panoramic shots to showcase expansive landscapes.

For capturing your best self, the Infinix offers a dedicated 32-megapixel front camera with a wide sensor. It boasts a Dual-LED flash for selfies in less than ideal lighting and supports HDR, ensuring balanced photos. While the video recording on the rear camera goes up to 2K resolution at 30 frames per second, the front camera allows for 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second.

Main camera

The phone packs a punch with a high-resolution 108MP primary sensor, promising sharp and detailed photos. AI features are onboard to further enhance image quality by automatically optimizing settings for different scenes and reducing noise. The color reproduction is decent, but sometimes, the AI is aggressive and pictures tend to be unnatural and soft but overall, we are quite satisfied with the results.

Video recording

The phone offers up to 2K resolution video recording at 30 frames per second. This translates to sharp, detailed footage, well-suited for capturing everyday moments and memories. While image stabilization (OIS) is present, users shouldn’t expect it to rival high-end phones for shake correction.
