Inside TECNO’s MWC 2026 Booth Modular Phones, Ultra Thin Designs, and More

MWC 2026 just wrapped up, and as always, we saw a lot of new tech being launched and plenty of concepts being teased.

However, in a sea of manufacturers, one stood out from the rest, TECNO.

We think TECNO topped the charts when it came to the most innovative and impressive booth we visited. They really went all out with their product launches and teasers.

So, what did TECNO have in store for us at their MWC 2026 booth? A lot. But we’ll try to unpack everything as best as we can. And if there’s something we missed, feel free to comment on our Facebook post.

TECNO Modular Concept

TECNO Modular Phone – IBA NA TALAGA SI TECNO

What was probably the biggest head-turner at the TECNO booth during MWC 2026 was the company’s Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology concept. As the name suggests, you can attach modules like an extra battery, a card holder, or even a camera sensor with an extender lens to the back of the device using magnets.

The device in and of itself is mind-bogglingly thin, maybe even thinner than the iPhone Air but TECNO had to do that to make the modular system feasible. I mean, what would be the point of attaching extra components to an already thick device, right?

Although this is only a concept for now, there’s little doubt in our minds that we’ll eventually see a production version of this technology in future TECNO devices. It may not be exactly the same, but the core idea will likely remain.

TECNO Slim 2

Another concept that TECNO showed off is the sequel to last year’s TECNO Slim, aptly named Slim 2. The original Slim was already ultra-thin at 5.93mm, but TECNO managed to make it even thinner at just 5.49mm. Even the bezels at the front have been trimmed down, resulting in a stunning 97.6% screen-to-body ratio.

Aside from the incredibly thin frame and bezels, TECNO also upgraded the mood lighting at the back, making it more customizable and functional than ever.

It’s expected to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor and a 6,150mAh battery, which should be impressive considering the phone’s ultra-thin design.

TECNO x Tonino Lamborghini

2026 seems to be a year of partnerships for Transsion. Infinix has collaborated with Pininfarina, the famous Italian car designer, while TECNO partnered with Tonino Lamborghini.

And it’s not just a case of lazily slapping branding onto a device. TECNO clearly did its homework and designed a phone that feels worthy of the partnership.

The phone I’m talking about is the TECNO POVA Metal, a new addition to the TECNO POVA family. It features a metal construction, faux carbon fiber accents in the camera island, and a large red light bar at the back.

TECNO POVA Metal – The Lamborghini Phone

TECNO POVA 8 Series and the POVA Curve 2

Since we’re already on the subject of the POVA, TECNO also showcased the upcoming POVA 8 Series.

These devices come packed with updated internals while still maintaining the unmistakable POVA identity. There isn’t a lot of information available yet about the POVA 8 and POVA 8 Pro, except that the iconic status light is gone. In its place is the new Pixel Joy display.

TECNO POVA 8 Pro – SOBRANG NAKAKATUWA

Specs are still a bit scarce at the moment. What we do know is that the series will feature a large battery, improved cameras, and stronger IP ratings.

Then there’s the TECNO POVA Curve 2, the POVA Series’ curvy sibling with a massive 8,000 mAh battery. It has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with support for a 144Hz refresh rate and is powered by the latest, MediaTek Dimensity 7100.

TECNO POVA Curve 2 – THE ROBOCOP Phone

TECNO CAMON 50 Series

Aside from its performance-focused lineup, TECNO also launched the follow-up to its camera-oriented smartphone line, the CAMON 50 Series.

TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra – The Magic Phone

TECNO introduced three devices: the CAMON 50, CAMON 50 Pro, and CAMON 50 Ultra. Although it’s still unclear whether we’ll also be seeing a follow-up to the CAMON Premier or if it’s already been discontinued.

The TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra continues to dominate as one of the top camera phones in the $400–$600 range, earning a DXOMARK score of 146. Thanks in part to the 50MP Sony LYT-700C main camera that all three cameras feature.

It’s joined by a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP selfie shooter (with varying differences among each model), along with smart AI-powered features designed to elevate your photography experience.

Final Thoughts

In the past few years, TECNO has been an integral part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) experience, and coming here really does make me feel like a kid in a candy store. This year, TECNO has once again outdone themselves.

What stood out the most wasn’t just the number of devices on display, but the creativity behind them. Whether it’s experimenting with modular smartphone designs, chasing record-breaking thinness, or blending automotive-inspired aesthetics with mobile tech, TECNO is showing that innovation can come from unexpected places.

If these concepts eventually make their way into commercial devices, TECNO could very well reshape how we think about smartphone design in the coming years. For now, one thing is clear: Forget we’re going through a RAM shortage because TECNO is more than just specs, and they’ve made sure to highlight that in their MWC 2026 booth.
