See the estimated time left to reach full battery or the set battery limit on iOS 18.2.
According to a report, iOS 18.2 will add the “BatteryIntelligence” framework that calculates the estimated charging completion times of iPhones. Although not new in smartphones, it’s curious if this framework has a higher accuracy compared to that of Android.
There’s another interesting detail here: its accuracy in calculating estimated time on specific battery levels. iOS 18 introduced the battery limit and users can set it on 80%, 85%, 90%, and 95%. If the framework is very accurate, it will definitely help preserve battery health.
The annoyance notification when you use a slow charger on your iPhone will stay. You’ll need a compatible 20W or higher charger to stop it.
This part shouldn’t be bothersome because slow charging is better for the battery. Let’s hope iOS 18.2 has a mute or something to stop that eyesore.
iOS 18.2 will also introduce new Apple Intelligence features, such as:
- Image Playground: An app for generating images using text prompts.
- Genmoji: Generate emojis with AI using text prompts.
- ChatGPT: Lets Siri fetch answers to your queries using ChatGPT.
- Visual Intelligence: Obtain information of your surroundings using the camera.
What do you think of the new battery health feature?
