Be kind to your iPhone when iOS 18 pings you of slow charging.
The iOS 18 has brought new power management features to eligible iPhones. One of them expands the charging limit but another seems to shame users.
Charging limit is excellent in extending battery lifespan and many users wish they could have such on their phones, regardless of brand and OS. For iPhones powered by iOS 18, users can set the limit to 80% or beyond using the 85%, 90%, or 95% limiter.
The other feature, and it may insult some users, tells you when the device is using a slow charger. If you check the charging graph, you’ll see the orange-colored bars. Plus, a notification indicating “Slow Charging.” Green bars show regular fast charging.
iOS 18 will also tell you of slow charging if you’re actively charging the iPhone while the battery menu is open. Although the exact charging rate isn’t shown, a Redditor mentioned that it’s around 5 W, as per report.
The latest iPhone 16 series can charge up to 45 W with the appropriate charging brick.
