iPhone 15 is the best-selling smartphone in the world, Q3 2024

iPhone 15 domination! That’s the Q3 2024 global reading from a market research firm.

The best-selling smartphone for the third quarter of 2024 is the iPhone 15 Series, occupying three of the top spots! It was followed by several Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

According to Counterpoint Research’s Global Handset Model Sales Tracker, the Top 10 of global best-selling smartphones are conquered by the two top brands, except for one spot.

The champion for Q3 2024 is the Apple iPhone 15 with 3.5% market share. The second and third spots are occupied by iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro, respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 4G, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A05 occupied the respective following positions. The iPhone 14 came next, followed by the Redmi 13C 4G, and the Galaxy S24.

Still, Apple’s market share slightly dipped in YoY with the iPhone 14 dominating the Q3 2023 with 3.8%. Cupertino’s solid hold of the top spot is attributed to financial schemes and trade-ins, which brought the iPhone to wider income brackets.

Samsung Galaxy S24 sustained its presence, thanks to generative AI and its marketing, while other Galaxy smartphones offered more options that significantly broadened customer bases.

Redmi 13C snatched a spot because of its affordability that attracted consumers in emerging markets.

In the upcoming quarters, we’ll see the influence of AI perks in emerging markets. Will Apple Intelligence sway the audience? Will the Galaxy S25 with Snapdragon 8 Elite turn the table?
