The iPhone 16 Pro models are getting bigger batteries to sustain their unmatched performance.
The iPhone 16 series arrives this September and it’s expected to have major upgrades compared to its predecessor and older iPhone version. But one of many upgrades users want to gain is better battery life.
Despite the efficiency of the hardware and software of iPhones, battery life remains an issue because these devices have lower battery capacities than their Android opponents. Most Android smartphones, including budget ones, are tanky with 5,000 mAh battery at least. So, will the new iPhone series get bigger batteries?
The answer is yes but not that big. A tipster on Weibo unveiled the exact battery capacities of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The leaked values are 3,577 mAh for the iPhone 16 Pro and 4,676 mAh for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. They are certainly greater than the 3,290 mAh of the iPhone 15 Pro and the 4,441 mAh of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
For those who didn’t find the increase impressive, know that Apple never uses gigantic batteries on iPhones. The hardware and software of these devices are well-optimized to handle power demands without compromising performance.
Still, a small battery is a small battery at the end of the day and bigger batteries will always have more juice. We’ll just have to see the tricks Apple has up its sleeves with the new iPhone 16 series next month.
